Why videogames are so gay now

Hey gamers! Welcome back to Netphantomclan, where we dive into all things gaming. Today, we’re tackling a hot topic: Why are video games becoming more inclusive, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ representation? Stick around, because we’re about to break it down for you.

First off, let’s talk about the increased awareness and acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals in society. As our world becomes more inclusive, the media we consume, including video games, starts reflecting that change. Game developers are more aware than ever of the importance of representation.

And it’s not just about awareness. The gaming audience is incredibly diverse. With millions of LGBTQ+ gamers out there, it only makes sense for game developers to create characters and stories that resonate with everyone. After all, who doesn’t want to see themselves represented in their favorite games?

Speaking of game developers, many of them identify as LGBTQ+ themselves. This gives them a personal connection to the stories they’re creating, allowing for more authentic and meaningful representation in their games. It’s all about bringing their true selves into their creative work.

Then there’s the market demand. Players are increasingly looking for diverse and inclusive games. When a game features well-rounded LGBTQ+ characters, it not only broadens its appeal but also leads to better sales. Inclusivity is good for business!

The gaming industry itself is also stepping up. Many companies have diversity and inclusion policies in place, supporting the development of games that reflect the real world. This industry-wide push helps create an environment where LGBTQ+ representation can thrive.

And let’s not forget the cultural impact. Video games are a powerful medium that can shape attitudes and perceptions. By including LGBTQ+ characters and themes, games can promote understanding and acceptance in the real world. It’s all about making a positive change, one game at a time.

As you can see, my channel is based on playing PUBG Mobile. If you’re a PUBG player, you’ve probably noticed that the Royale Pass outfits for the past few months have been mostly female. You can’t get the male outfits from those Royale Passes. It seems like they’re trying to make wearing dresses and femininity more normal in the gaming community.

If you compare video games today to those from the 2000s, you can really see the difference. We grew up playing Mortal Kombat, Call of Duty, GTAs, Total Overdose, and other games that presented masculinity in their stories. But today, we see a lot more promotion of feminist themes in most video games.

So, let’s hope that video game companies will bring back masculine characters in games again at some point, ones we can relate to.
